Handbooks

Current and previous edition handbooks contain full code text in addition to: commentary written by leading electrical and fire protection authorities; examples of correct code applications; and hundreds of photos, tables, diagrams and charts to help clarify code requirements.

PDF downloads

Subscribers can download PDFs of individual standards, State Code Editions, and the Annual Code Set for offline access.

User Notes

Single-users can add personalized notes online to remember questions or project details for future reference.

Bookmarks

Single-users can add bookmarks to the online content you refer to most often.

Email capabilities

Subscribers can share content with colleagues via email. The recipient will have complimentary 48-hour access to that code content.

Create citations

A handy citation tool will allow you to create and save NFPA document citations in your presentations, documents, reports, or proposals.

Interactive search

Enter a keyword or phrase in the search box located in the toolbar to find specific content. You can search across all documents or limit search within a document.

Easy navigation

Access code information through an advanced title search, collapsible table of contents, or tool bar arrows for access to chapters and sections.

Print options

Print entire code chapters or sections—with or without tables and graphics—or graphics alone. Subscribers can also print their user notes—the text appears at the end of the section/chapter.
 

System Requirements

NFPA recommends Google Chrome, Internet Explorer 9.0 (or higher), Firefox 30.0 (or higher). Some features may not behave as intended with other browsers. When viewing in IE8, users should also make sure that they have 'Compatibility View’ disabled. To disable the 'Compatibility View’, go to your IE toolbar and select Tools > Compatibility View Settings> uncheck all boxes and remove all NFPA websites from the list > close browser and begin a new session.

National Fire Code Set

National Fire Codes® Set  is one PDF that contains the current edition documents through a Fall cycle of a particular year. NFCSS All Access currently has three sets:
2015 NFC Set - includes the fall and annual 2014 cycle
2014 NFC Set - includes the fall and annual 2013 cycle
2013 NFC Set - includes the fall and annual 2012 cycle

Downloading a PDF

To download a PDF of a code or standard for offline use, you need to be logged-in and connected to the internet. Find the code you wish to download and simply click the ‘Download’ button while viewing the document. You will be prompted to save the document to your computer.
If downloading to mobile device, you should have a wifi connection in order to accommodate the data usage. Larger PDFs, including the National Fire Code set PDF, may take a considerable amount of time to download on slower internet connections.
2013 NFC Set - includes the NFPA recommends you create a folder on your computer specifically for NFPA documents so they will be easy to find.

Creating Bookmarks

To create a bookmark, simply click the ‘bookmark’ icon in the toolbar or at the beginning of a chapter or section. Access them quickly by clicking the Bookmarks/Notes/Citation link in the upper right hand corner of your window. This feature is currently available for individual subscriptions only.

Account Settings

You may access your Account Settings, change your password, email, address, etc. by clicking on the link in the upper right hand corner of your window.
NFCSS All Access is a single user service and you may not share your log on information. If there are multiple people in your organization who need access to the National Fire Codes online, see the Contact page for more details on multi-user licenses.

Locating a Specific Document

As an NFCSS All Access subscriber, you have access to lots of great content. Learn how to quickly locate and view the content of your choice, whether it be a Code, Standard, or Handbook.

Printing Content

Online content can be printed using the print icon located in the tool bar and at the beginning of each chapter section. When the icon is clicked, a screen pops up with the option to print the section or chapter. You can also choose to include notes in your printout (if you’ve added notes) by clicking the box next to ‘notes’. Tables, graphs and figures can be printed individually – the word “print” appears just after each item. PDF content can be printed by choosing the print icon from the Adobe Reader.

Creating Personalized Notes

You can add a personalized notes by clicking the ‘notes’ icon in the toolbar or at the beginning of a chapter or section. Access them quickly by clicking the Bookmarks/Notes/Citation link in the upper right hand corner of your window. This feature is currently available for individual subscriptions only. You can also save notes to PDFs if you are using Adobe Acrobat 9, Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 or Adobe Acrobat Extended.

Creating/Saving a Citation

To create or save a citation, simply click the ‘cite this’ icon in the toolbar or at the beginning of a chapter or section. Access them quickly by clicking the Bookmarks/Notes/Citation link in the upper right hand corner of your window.
